ESOLLANG 699W: Individual Writing Projects

English for Speakers of Other Languages Stanford University 1.0 credits

Course Description

This tutorial-based course is a follow-up to ESOLLANG writing courses to support students' continuing growth as writers in their fields. It provides weekly individual meetings with an ESOL instructor of around 50 minutes on one or more major writing projects, such as qualifying papers, grant proposals, papers for publication, or dissertation chapters. The meetings are structured around the student's individual writing needs. During the sessions, students receive detailed feedback on organization, style, and grammar, along with training on revising and editing more effectively. Space is limited, and priority is given to those who have completed one or more of the following ENGR 202W or ESOLLANG 688, 698A, 698B, or 698C. Others will be considered if space remains. For information on how to apply, see http://efs.stanford.edu or email kgeda@stanford.edu. Students with outstanding ESOL writing requirements must complete them before applying.
