ENGR 310: Biomedical Materials
Course Description
This course focuses on the restoration of physiological function by engineering biomaterials for the biological environment, covering the principles underlying the use and design of medical implants and matrices/scaffolds. The transition from the engineering material to the biological tissue, including molecular and cellular interactions with biomaterials, tissue and organ regeneration, and the design of intact, biodegradable, and bio-replaceable materials will be discussed. Prerequisites: PHYS/AST 192 and CHEM 106 and EGR 106 or instructor consent.
