SPAN 334: Latin American Civilization (GS)

Course Description

A broad survey of Latin America giving greater importance to the causes and effects of meaningful events on cultural development than to bare historical data. High priority will be given to demonstrating the unity of Latin American culture notwithstanding its varied contours. Present-day political, economical and social structure will also be emphasized in order to show the old and new facets of Latin American reality. This course is taught exclusively in Spanish. Prerequisites: SPANISH 300, 312 and 301 or instructor consent or SPANISH 310, 311 and 301 or instructor consent. Special course fees may apply.
