3 Lab Hours.(CHEM 1109, 1409*) General Chemistry for Engineering Students Laboratory. Introduction to important concepts and principles of chemistry in the laboratory; emphasis on areas considered most relevant in an engineering context; practical applications of chemical principles in engineering and technology. Students completingCHEM 117and changing majors to curricula requiring CHEM 111 and CHEM 112 may substituteCHEM 117for CHEM 111. Only one of the following will satisfy the requirements for a degree:CHEM 117or CHEM 111.Prerequisites:CHEM 107or registration therein; also taught at Galveston and Qatar campuses.
