3 Lecture Hours.Examination of global and diasporic networks of hip hop music and culture; emphasis on the musical, visual, embodied, and intellectual artistic expressions of hip hop; discussion of hip hop’s engagement with youth culture, politics, activism, media and industry, identity, and historical contexts.Prerequisite:Junior or senior classification or approval of instructor.
