Course Description

The course covers the basic topics in automotive engineering: a) fundamental vehicle dynamics; b) Engine-transmission compatibility and matching; c) analysis of vehicle performance in acceleration, gradability, speed, fuel economy, ride comfort, stability and safety; d) computer modeling and simulation of vehicle systems by numerical techniques; e) transmission design and analysis; f) design of vehicle systems such as brakes, suspensions, steering mechanisms and other subsystems.
