Course Description

What are the political origins of legal systems? Why are there lawyers? Why does the legal system matter for contemporary American society? This class provides an introduction to the relationship between law and politics, and is designed in particular to help pre-law students form a more thorough understanding of the role and identity of lawyers and the functioning of the legal system.
