POL SCI 425W: ISeminar: Authoritarian Regimes

Course Description

This course investigates the structure and functioning of authoritarian political systems in comparison to democratic regimes. We examine how repressive leaders gain and maintain power, what factors condition constituents’ choices to support or oppose an authoritarian government, and differences in the ordinary conduct of political and economic life for individuals in comparison to democratic systems.
