ANTHRO 4307: Community Based Research in Anthropology

Course Description

This is an advanced course in qualitative/ethnographic modes of inquiry, building on research and analytical skills learned in previous courses. Some quantitative methods may supplement the research when appropriate. Students experience the process of discovery, representation, presentation, and justification based on fieldwork and/or archival research. The focus is on applying anthropological knowledge to practical issues faced by communities and institutions in the St. Louis area.
