Course Description

This course covers basic theory and mathematics behind statistical testing in biology. It includes components on experimental design, a historical perspective on statistics, and the description of a range of parametric and non-parametric statistical tests. This course also includes a practical component, where students apply their statistical knowledge using the R statistical computing environment. The course fulfills the statistics requirement for the BA or BS degree in biology.
