CHEM 5774: Bioinformatics
Course Description
This course introduces modern approaches in bioinformatics and computational biochemistry. Topics to be covered include a survey of biological databases, predictions from protein and DNA sequences, sequence alignment and sequence database searches, building phylogenetic trees, three-dimensional protein structure prediction, molecular modeling and simulation, and computational genomics. Additional independent study work is required. Students may not receive credit for bothCHEM 4774andCHEM 5774.
