EE 120: Bioelectronics (EE 220, MATSCI 220)

Electrical Engineering Stanford University 4.0 credits

Course Description

This course is aimed at upper-level undergraduates and graduate students interested in designing, developing and understanding biologically interfaced electronic systems focused on biosensing, drug delivery and augmented reality. We will explore fundamental materials approaches for flexible and stretchable electronics development and packaging, and system-level integration for wireless power transfer and two-way data communication. We will study applications in wearable and implantable, organ-mounted electronic systems. Finally, we will survey grand challenges in the field and, in this context, explore both academic and commercial breakthroughs from the last 15 years.
